2000년 11월 15일 동아인문학회 설립 발의
영남대학교 사범대학 강당에서 개최된 모산학술연구소 제10회 국제학술대회에서 모산학술재단 후원 아래 동아시아의 인문학을 전문적으로 연구하기 위한 학회를 설립하기로 합의하고 그 명칭을〔동아인문학회〕로 결정함.

2001년 1월~9월 15일
동아인문학회 주비위원회籌備委員會를 결성하여 학회의 회칙, 논문 투고와 심사, 학술상 포상 등 관련규정을 제정함. 주비위원籌備委員 : 홍우흠 교수 외 10명 ◈ 2001년 1월~10월 15일 동아인문학회 회원모집 : 국내외 학자 230여 명이 입회함 (한국, 중국, 일본 등)

On Nov. 15, 2000
the 10th International Conference of the Mosan Research Institute was held at the Auditorium of Youngnam University, under the auspices of the Mosan Research Foundation. Many scholars participating in this conference agreed to establish an academic association to conduct the research on East Asian humanities, called the East Asian Humanities Society (EAHA)

In Jan. 2001
Prof. Hong Woo-heum and 10 committee members were elected, who made preparations for the establishment of EAHA, making regulations, contributions and reviews of articles, and the conferment of academic awards, from Jan. to Sept., 2001. ◈ From Jan. to Oct., 2001, two hundred and thirty scholars from Korea, China, and Japan registered to join the EAHA.

On Nov. 17, 2001
the 1st International Conference, co-hosted by the Department of Chinese Education, Youngnam University, was held at the International Building, Youngnam University. Prof. Hong Wooheum from Youngnam University was elected as 1st President.

From Jan. 22, to Jan. 24, 2002
he 2nd International Conference, co-hosted by both the Department of Chinese Literature (中國文學係), Tam Kang College (淡江大學), Chinese Taipei, and the Department of Chinese Education, Youngnam University, was held at the International Building, Youngnam University, under the theme “Confucian Thought and East Asian Cultures in the 21st Century.” 42 papers were presented at this conference. ◈ In June 2002, the first volume of the journal <East Asian Humanities> was published. EAHA decided to publish the journal twice a year.

the 12th International Conference, co-hosted by both the Academy of Social Sciences (社會科學院), Gansu City, Gansu Province (甘肅省) and the Association for Dunhuang Research (敦煌學會), was held in Lanzhou City (蘭州市), under the theme “Dunhuang Culture and East Asian Cultures.” 38 papers were presented at this conference.

EAHA decided to publish the journal <East Asian Humanities> quarterly.

the 17th International Conference, co-hosted by both Hengshui College (衡水學院), Hengshui City (衡水市), Hebei Province (河北省) and the Daegu Association of History, Daegu City, was held at Hengshui College, under the theme “Confucianism in the East Asia: Humanities, History, and Philosophy with Special Reference to Dongjungsu (董仲舒).” 130 papers were presented at this conference.

the 17th International Conference, co-hosted by both Hengshui College (衡水學院), Hengshui City (衡水市), Hebei Province (河北省) and the Daegu Association of History, Daegu City, was held at Hengshui College, under the theme “Confucianism in the East Asia: Humanities, History, and Philosophy with Special Reference to Dongjungsu (董仲舒).” 130 papers were presented at this conference.

the 18th International Conference, co-hosted by both the University of Home Affairs, Hanoi City and the Daegu Association of History, under the theme “The Cultural Sphere in the East Asia and the Spread of Confucian Culture.” 62 papers were presented at this conference. ◈ On July. 1, 2018, 6th president (Prof. Choi Han-sun from Chonnam Provincial University) and board members were elected.

the ceremony for the 100th anniversary of Dr. Mosan Shim Jaewan's (慕山沈載完) birth and the 19th International Conference, co-hosted by both the Museum of Korean Lyrics and Jeonnam State University, were held at Jeonnam State University, under the theme “Status and Prospects of the East Asian Humanities Research.” 128 papers were presented at this conference. On Nov. 16, 2018, EAHA published the two volumes, <Reply to the Humanities I> and <Reply to the Humanities II>.
